Central High School Annual  African American History Celebration

Join us for our annual Celebration of African American History, sponsored by the Central High Museum.   Rev. Willie Tisdale of South Hill, Virginia will be the guest speaker.  Music will be provided by the SMG Combined Gospel Ensemble Choir. Come dressed in your African attire or come as you are. The program is free to the public and everyone is welcome to attend.  Dinner will be served following the program.
 
Rainbow of Ribbons Pageant - Barksdale Cancer Foundation

This annual event sponsored by the Charlotte County Master Gardeners offers something for every gardener.  A wide variety of plants are available to purchase, plus there will be guest speakers, vendors selling gardening items, and refreshments for sale.  Florafest is a major fundraiser that supports grants and scholarships in our county. Celebrate Patrick Henry's Birthday at Red Hill

Join The Central High Museum's celebration of heritage and culture at the 4th Annual "Ole Grand Setting." The theme is "Uplifting Our History". The guest speaker will be Minister Daniel Smith from Springhill Baptist Church in Blackstone, VA.  There will be a guest choir. Afternoon activities include music by DJ Al Brogden and Big G "Southern Soul" recording artist and games; Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club will also be attending. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy some family and community fun!   Food and drink will be available for purchase. All are welcome to attend.

Living History Days for Homeschool Students at Red Hill

Red Hill's Annual Days of Living History for Homeschooled Students are geared for ages 8 to 10, although children younger and older benefit from the hands-on experience of 18th century life.  Programs can rotate among spinning and weaving, blacksmithing, pottery, a walking tour, Colonial medicine, basket making, tin punching, and rope making. Each day will have the same schedule.    Advance Registration Required for this Event. Adults/Chaperones are $6/each, Children 4 and up are $5/each, and Children 3 and under are free, but tickets must still be reserved for them.  Tickets are non-refundable.
